Austin Scott Clark began writing The Lost Compass in a high school computer class when he was bored. Eventually, he finished writing it and only begrudgingly allowed his friends to help him publish it.
Austin has probably done some other things in his life I assume, and he lives in a house situated within a neighborhood of other houses.
